Lockdown and Critical Incident
Lockdown and Critical Incident Management
Our school is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all pupils, staff and visitors. We have a comprehensive Lockdown and Critical Incident Management Plan that outlines the procedures to follow if an incident poses a risk to the school community. This includes situations such as an intruder, emergency services advice, severe weather, environmental hazards or other serious incidents.
The plan details how staff respond during both partial and full lockdowns, ensuring pupils are moved to places of safety, communication is maintained with emergency services, and the wellbeing of everyone on site remains the highest priority. All staff receive regular training, and lockdown procedures are reinforced at least annually to ensure everyone understands their role.
The school works closely with emergency services and Carmarthenshire County Council to manage incidents effectively and provide clear communication to families when appropriate. Following any incident or drill, procedures are reviewed to ensure they remain effective and up to date.
For security reasons, specific operational details of our lockdown arrangements are not published. However, parents and carers can be assured that robust plans are in place to help protect our school community should an emergency arise.
